The gains were led by rate-sensitive stocks like realty, auto and banking. The markets closed with significant gains today with realty, banking, auto and FMCG being the best performers.
The Sensex ended at 16649, up 195 points and Nifty closed at 5,049.65, up 52.55 points, or 1.05 percent.
