FMCG and auto were the biggest looser for the day and Reality, consumer durables, capital goods and banking were the biggest gainers in today's session.

The Sensex closed at 17399, down 31 points from its previous close, and the Nifty closed at 5279, no change from its previous closing. The top Nifty gainers were ACC, DLF, Grasim and HDFC Bank and the losers were ITC, Jindal Steel, Hero MotoCorp and Tata Motors.
