Indian shares are expected to trade lower on Monday amid fears of a global economic downturn. The Indian market opens for trade this morning on a negative note. On Friday, the US markets ended weak with the Dow don 275 odd points while Asia is in the red at this hour. Sensex is trading at 15770, down 194 points from its previous close, and Nifty is at 4778, down 63 points. CNX Midcap index is down 1.2% and BSE Smallcap index is down 0.6%.  

Today Benchmark Nifty could drift lower and get support at 4750. "The overall bias is negative. On the upside, maximum level of 4950-5000. A gap-down opening in the index on Monday would be crucial, especially if it breaches the support level. If it does, then it may reach 4500 levels.
